Belvoir Lettings Bingham Snowdon charity walk

Belvoir Lettings Bingham Snowdon charity walk

On Sunday 26th July 2015 8 members of staff from Belvoir Lettings Melton Mowbray and Bingham climbed the beautiful heights of Mount Snowdon. The team ranged in age from 15 to 50-something and they had to battle through gale force winds, torrential rain, hail and fog to reach the summit.  It was a real team effort as some of the group had never done any hill walking before (and possibly never will again!)  But they did it! Raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, donations have been gratefully received and are still coming in.  The grand total currently stands at over £1,000. For more information, click...
Feel Great with Local Yoga Classes

Feel Great with Local Yoga Classes

Come to yoga classes with Karen and Kev to feel better, get fit, tone up and chill out! Yoga combines physical movements with breathing and meditation techniques. It stretches the muscles and connective tissues, allowing a better range of movement of the joints and spine. In fact, yoga is the only system that stretches and mobilises the spine completely through its full range, so is perfect if you suffer from aches and pains or little niggles. It also strengthens, lengthens and tones the muscles, massages the internal organs, improves balance and concentration and is a cardio-vascular workout to boot. All in all, you’ll feel great after coming to do yoga with us! Our friendly and welcoming classes offer something a little bit more as well as we’re both pain-relief therapists, treating a range of musculo-skeletal problems, such as bad backs, neck and hip pain. We understand what can go wrong with the body, and how yoga can help. Karen is also a remedial yoga therapist – using yoga to treat a range of illnesses and injuries – and offers one to one yoga session too. We offer three classes a week in Bingham (term-time only), and as we can suggest modifications to the yoga postures, our classes are suitable for all levels and abilities: Mondays, 6.30 to 7.40pm at Robert Miles Infant School Wednesdays, 9.30 to 10.30am at Church House Thursdays, 7.00 to 8.15pm at Robert Miles Infant School To come to one of our classes, please email us at info@mabconsultants.co.uk or call Karen on 07775 655 539 or Kev on 07817 547 558. We also run classes in...
Cub Scout pending closure if another leader isn’t found soon

Cub Scout pending closure if another leader isn’t found soon

A total of 24 eight to ten-year-olds at 1st Bingham Gemini pack would be unable to meet if extra leaders are not recruited. In the last three months, the pack has been reduced to two adult leaders through ill-health and family commitments. The pack, based at Carnarvon School, needs at least one more leader so it can keep providing fun and enriching activities for young people on a weekly basis. Last week’s meeting was cancelled because one of the leaders was unavailable due to work commitments. Leader Mr Adrian Telford said: “We want to secure the long-term future of the group. “In 2016 we have the centenary of Cub Scouts in the UK and we want to make sure young people have the best experience throughout that period.” Mr Telford said anyone over the age of 18 could sign up to become a Cub Scout leader and no previous experience in Scouting or Guiding was necessary. “If we had to close it would leave 24 young people with nowhere to go,” he said. “There is another pack in Bingham which is full and the neighbouring packs are full as well.” Mr Telford said the closure would affect the whole group as Scouts and Explorers would lose potential new members and Beavers, who are younger than Cubs, would have no group to step up to. “The leader role would involve organising and planning activities and working with up to 24 children aged eight to ten,” he said. “They get accredited training, a sense of working in the community, volunteering, and helping young people to develop and grow.” The Cub pack...
