Latest plans for Newark and Sherwood Sports and Community Village released

Nottinghamshire YMCA has unveiled updated plans for the multi-million pound sports and community village on Bowbridge Road, Newark, ahead of submitting a formal planning application. Newly released site plans and artist’s impressions demonstrate the ambitious and exciting proposal for the site which will provide sports, arts and music opportunities for communities and generations across the county. The Village will combine sports and community unlike anywhere else in the UK. Newly released site plans show a 750m closed road cycle circuit, an FA compliant 3G football pitch (FIFA quality concept for football turf one star), multiple 5-a-side pitches, a multi-use community sports pitch, tennis courts, an athletics track and a skate park. In addition to impressive sports facilities, there will be a dedicated internal strength and conditioning space, with the village building boasting a 12m high climbing wall covering 262m2, a nursery, creative arts studios and digital media suites. The large onsite cafe promises freshly prepared seasonal produce as well as brilliant views across the whole site. This will really be a space for all ages, abilities and interests.
