Bingham Model Railway Club – 2013 Exhibition

Bingham Model Railway Club – 2013 Exhibition

The third exhibition at Cotgrave Miners Welfare was again a success and the fourth exhibition has already been dated for next year.

Visitors were invited to  look around the various layouts of model railways, in which two were created by members of the Bingham Model Railway Club.

Chris Trafford’s “Work in Progress” South town is based on one of Yarmouth’s three terminal stations and Trevor Webster’s Stamford East has been exhibited many times.

Unfortunately, Mr Webster was beaten by Alan Britton of Mansfield with “Nunbrook and Loxley” who won “Best in Show” as voted by the public.

All the buildings were built from scratch to match the originals and as you can see a lot of time and effort has been put into the models. The public could also buy from the trade stands including a stand owned by the BMRC long term sponsor Bill Mossop.

Maurice Boddy from York visited the exhibition for the third year running. Mr Boddy has written, by hand, 17 volumes of Railway Correspondence and Travel Society, including “Locos of the LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) 1963-1977 and an additional three volumes were published between 1988 and 1994.

Congratulations to Stan Clough and his team who took their time and put in a massive amount of effort to organise this.
