PHOTO/FILMING OPPORTUNITY – Saturday 9th April, 10am-3pm, Public Open Day at the Methodist Centre, Union Street, Bingham
The new Methodist Centre in Bingham is on schedule to officially open its doors in early April with an Open Day and Celebration Service during an historic weekend to remember.
After sixteen years of planning and fundraising, the building will be the only new build Methodist Church in the country to be opened in 2016. The Methodist Centre will provide modern worship facilities for Bingham Methodist Church, as well as a large hall, community meeting rooms, two retail units and rentable office space.
The Centre will open to the public on Saturday 9th April for an Open Day from 10am to 3pm. Refreshments will be available and visitors will be able to tour the building to see the new facilities on offer. Volunteers will also be on hand to welcome and guide people around and interest is expected to be high.
On the following day, Sunday 10th April an opening Celebration Service will be held with special guest Revd Steve Wild, President of the Methodist Conference. The service is by invitation only as it is strictly limited on numbers.
In addition, an Open Evening will take place at the Centre on Monday 11th April from 7pm to 9pm for potential community users of the facilities. The event is open to anyone who may wish to rent some space for community activities.
Meanwhile, the first of two retail units opened its doors on Thursday 10th March with Barnardo’s taking up residence in the new £1.7 million development. The tenant for the second space is expected to be announced in the next fortnight. The office space is complete and is now being marketed to potential tenants.
