Prime Minister Meets MEPs

“Very productive” is how East Midlands MEP Andrew Lewer MBE described his first meeting with newly appointed Prime Minister Theresa May earlier this week. Sixteen of the 19 Conservative MEPs attended the hour-long briefing to discuss the role of MEPs following the Brexit result in the recent referendum.

“It was a very useful meeting and the Prime Minister made clear she is keen to make use of our experience and knowledge during the coming negotiations” said Andrew.

“I used the opportunity to highlight the bigger role local authorities could play in helping identify and overseeing local infrastructure investment programmes after we have left the European Union.”
