The Workplace Depot Donates Bike Maintenance Lessons

50 children from Carnarvon Primary School in Bingham will take part in a bicycle maintenance course thanks to local business – The Workplace Depot. The company donated their prize which they won as part of The Big Wheel’s Workplace Challenge in 2013.

The Challenge involved Nottinghamshire businesses encouraging green travel by asking staff to walk and cycle to work rather than use their cars and then log their journeys. More than 30 companies and over 800 people took part and an estimated 9,143 tonnes of CO2 were saved.

Year 5 Carnarvon Primary School children will learn how to do emergency repairs including how to fix punctures. Richard Bloomfield from The Workplace Depot said, “Staff at the company are delighted that the bike maintenance prize will be going to a local school”.
